RM Wispeco: Quality, no compromise!
Learn more about Southern Africa’s leading manufacturer and supplier of steel and aluminium products
Wispeco is undoubtedly the most recognisable brand when it comes to steel and aluminium construction components, and continues to stimulate growth in the local manufacturing and construction industries with uncompromising quality and an ethos of efficiency.
Wispeco Namibia was established in 1968 and has shown steady growth ever since. In 1995, Wispeco Namibia became an independent Namibian-owned company and in 2003, it sold the majority of its shares to a South African group called Duro Pressings, which is the largest manufacturer of steel windows in South Africa and manufactures out of four factories in that country.
This enabled Wispeco Namibia to further increase its market share due to the addition of world-class products and resources offered by Duro Pressings. In 2009, the Frans Indongo Group seized the opportunity to acquire shares in Wispeco Namibia and in doing so established Wispeco as a truly Namibian company, with the further backing of Robmeg Steel, who’ve recently come on board to form RM Wispeco.
RM Wispeco has gone on to grow its position as the largest manufacturer and distributor of steel windows, door frames, garage doors and garage door motors in Namibia. It is also one of the largest distributors of aluminium window and door profiles in the country and recently entered the alternative building industry with the world-acclaimed Vela Building System.
Part of every home
During a recent visit to their Windhoek factory, the My.Na Properties team had the opportunity to learn more about how the brand and its unmistakable insignia became a cornerstone of the construction industry.
“Not only do we manufacture to the highest levels of quality, but a core tenet of our business philosophy is to develop the markets we operate in by promoting local manufacturing and value addition. This not only ensures we meet and exceed the specific needs of the market we’re in, but also that we can make a lasting impact on the socio-economic development of the communities we operate in,” Lorenzo Mouton, the general manager of the Windhoek branch, said.
The company's manufacturing facility in the capital is a testament to this, as we toured the different sections of their factory.
“Here, we have a steel side and an aluminium manufacturing side. On the steel side, we manufacture steel door frames and windows. On the aluminium side, we produce windows, sliding doors, Roll-A-Doors and door frames, including the recent addition of an unassembled door frame, which is much easier to transport and perfect for the end user who needs a versatile solution, as they can easily assemble it to open to the interior or exterior, given their specific circumstances,” he explained.
The obvious choice
Thanks to RM Wispeco's national footprint through a range of major retailers and the regional support offered by the Swakopmund and Ondangwa depots, everyone from home-owners looking to do some DIY work to large-scale contractors needing industrial quantities at exacting specifications can rest assured they can access top-quality products at the fairest cost and quickest turnaround times.
This coupled with its focus on responsible manufacturing and sustainability makes the company the obvious choice for all your steel and aluminium construction needs.
