NUST joins African oil summit

The organising committee of the International African Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (IAEOGS 2026) has announced Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) as a co-host, with the Crude Oil Refinery-owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) joining as a strategic partner.Green Energy International Ltd and Oriental Oil and Gas Services Ltd have also been announced as gold sponsors of the summit, which is scheduled to take place from 20 to 24 October at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek.IAEOGS 2026 will bring together international delegates, energy ministers and industry representatives for discussions on investment, infrastructure, energy transitions and partnerships across Africa's energy sector.NUST among co-hostsThe summit is organised by International Energy Summits Ltd, alongside African Energy World, African Energy Vault Ltd, African Peace Magazine UK and African Energy Academy Ltd, which are serving as principal strategic partners.NUST's Institute of Land, Livelihood and Heritage (ILLH) will co-host the summit alongside the Network of Excellence on Land Governance in Africa (NELGA) and CRG Research &amp; Consulting Ltd (CRG), which is based in Namibia and South Africa.The organisers said the academic and industry partnership would support discussions on infrastructure development, energy transitions and land governance, backed by local research and policy expertise.CORAN joins as strategic partnerThe Crude Oil Refinery-owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) has joined IAEOGS 2026 as an official strategic partner.The organisers said CORAN's participation would bring refinery owners and modular operators into discussions on domestic refining capacity, energy independence and intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).The partnership is also intended to connect West African processing expertise with Southern Africa's upstream exploration activity."If you are serious about securing deals, driving policy, and capturing real momentum in Africa's multi-billion-dollar energy sector, IAEOGS 2026 is where it happens," said Prudence Ramotso."By combining the corporate strength of CORAN, Green Energy International, and Oriental Oil with the institutional prestige of NUST, NELGA, and CRG, we are bridging the gap between raw resources, academic intellect, and global capital."Gold sponsors announcedGreen Energy International Ltd and Oriental Oil and Gas Services Ltd have signed on as gold sponsors.The organisers said their support would contribute to business-to-business deal-making, project financing discussions and technology exhibitions.Five-day programmeOver five days, delegates are expected to discuss issues including deepwater exploration assets, modular refining infrastructure, local content frameworks and green hydrogen integration.Registration, corporate sponsorship packages and exhibition spaces are available through the summit's official website.
