Navachab welcomes 28 apprentices

Staff Reporter

QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine officially welcomed a new intake of 28 apprentices on 6 May 2026 as part of the mine’s ongoing skills development and youth empowerment programme aimed at strengthening Namibia’s future mining workforce.

The apprentices, recruited from various institutions across the country, will receive hands-on workplace training and practical exposure in welding and fabrication, boilermaking, occupational health and safety, and autotronics.

Executive director for human resources Elias Kahuva said the apprenticeship programme remains an important investment in both the company and Namibia’s long-term skills development.

“Through internships and apprenticeships, we are developing future professionals while also strengthening the mining industry and contributing to national skills development,” Kahuva said.

He added that the programme creates opportunities for young people to gain workplace experience and learn directly from experienced professionals in the mining sector.
