NamRa extends tax return deadline to October

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has extended the deadline for submission of tax returns under the amended Section 21 of the Income Tax Act to 31 October 2025, citing delays related to system readiness.The extension, which affects returns initially due on 31 July, 31 August, and 30 September 2025, follows the recent amendment of Section 21 of the Income Tax Act of 1981. The section deals specifically with limitations on the setting-off of assessed losses carried forward from previous years of assessment.In a public notice issued on 31 July, NamRA acknowledged the delay in system readiness and offered the extension as a measure to accommodate affected taxpayers. “NamRA sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates your understanding and cooperation,” read the statement signed by Chief of Strategic Communications and Support Engagements, Yarukeekuro Ndorokaze.The agency urged all taxpayers falling under the amended provision to take note of the new deadline and ensure compliance to avoid penalties.
