Money Matters offers six‑week Spending Plan Starter

At a time when many people feel overwhelmed by rising living costs, debt pressure and financial uncertainty, Money Matters Movement has launched the Spending Plan Starter Programme, a guided programme designed to help individuals better understand their money, habits and financial reality before building a practical spending plan.Created by Marilize Hentze and Chantal Claassen, the programme takes a different approach to traditional budgeting conversations.“Many people do not need another complicated budget template,” says Marilize Hentze. “They need a place to start. They need space to understand their money without shame, pressure or judgement.”The programme focuses on helping participants understand what is really happening with their income, spending, debt, habits and everyday financial decisions before introducing tools or systems.“The programme does not start with a tool. It starts with clarity,” adds Chantal Claassen. “Before building a spending plan, we first look at someone’s money reality, values, behaviour and what it currently costs to be them. Once people understand their money better, they can begin making more intentional decisions.”The Spending Plan Starter Programme includes six guided sessions over an approximately two‑month journey, with one session per week available either virtually or in person. The programme is offered at a once‑off upfront cost of N$2,500.Money Matters Movement was created to make money conversations feel more practical, supportive and accessible, with a focus on financial organisation, intentional spending and sustainable money habits.The founders believe there is a growing need for honest and relatable financial conversations in Namibia, especially for individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure where to begin with their finances.Registration for the Spending Plan Starter Programme is now open.Understand your money.
