Ministry delegation tours Acacia-Composites

A delegation from Namibia's Ministry of International Relations and Trade (MIRT) recently toured Acacia-Composites Manufacturers in Windhoek as part of efforts to promote export-ready local industries and expand access to international markets.The visit was led by acting executive director Asser Nashikaku and formed part of a wider initiative to showcase Namibian manufacturers and products to potential investors and trading partners abroad.During the tour, company representatives outlined Acacia-Composites' operations, product range and expansion plans, while discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen Namibia's manufacturing sector and increase exports.The company confirmed that several of its products have been selected for inclusion in an upcoming regional trade mission aimed at promoting Namibian-made goods to key regional markets.Founded on locally driven research and development, Acacia-Composites manufactures composite building materials using a combination of Namibian-sourced wood fibre, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and specialised additives designed to withstand harsh climatic conditions.The delegation was shown a range of products, including decking boards, wall cladding systems and solar-screening louvre and pergola structures. The company also highlighted the use of encroacher bush harvested through partnerships with local farming communities, saying the approach supports land restoration and sustainable agricultural practices.Acacia-Composites said it is planning to increase production capacity in response to growing demand. Facility upgrades are under way to support expanded operations and higher extrusion output for both domestic and export markets.The company also acknowledged ongoing challenges in global supply chains, particularly relating to the availability and cost of HDPE, but said measures were being implemented to maintain production and supply.Business development manager Eike Bolm said the company was positioning itself for future growth as demand for composite building materials continues to increase. “We are immensely proud to show what can be achieved when Namibian innovation, engineering expertise and sustainable resources come together,” he said. Acacia-Composites Manufacturers welcomed Asser Nashikaku, Acting Executive Director at the Ministry of International Relations and Trade (MIRT), and his delegation to its Windhoek facility for a tour of its operations and product range.
