Katima's NCCI branch elects new Exco

STAFF REPORTER
The Katima Mulilo branch of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), one of the organisation’s strategic regional branches, successfully held its Elective General Meeting (EGM) on 10 October 2025.

The branch had been without substantive leadership since the previous Executive Committee’s (Exco) term ended. Following an information session, a number of entrepreneurs registered as new members, paving the way for the election of a new branch exco.

The entrepreneurs elected Sharon Limbo as chairperson of the Katima Mulilo branch, with Frankie Ntemwa deputising as vice-chairperson. Other members elected to lead the NCCI Katima Mulilo branch are Mwaka Mukendwa, Richard Kakona, Sannety Sanyambe, Inonge Mabakeng, Michell Nguvauva and Clara Likokoto.

The team represents a diverse range of business interests, including tourism, horticulture production, accommodation, informal trading, fishing and consultancy.

In her acceptance speech, Limbo highlighted that regional and local leadership is willing to engage the private sector in the Zambezi Region; however, there has previously been a lack of coordination and a unified voice. She added that she is glad there is now leadership in place to organise entrepreneurs in the region and address the operational ecosystem challenges affecting business activity.

In his words of encouragement to the new Exco, NCCI CEO Titus Nampala stated that they must be accountable to their business community, emphasising that regional development and transformation lie in their hands. He added that proactive engagement with stakeholders across the ecosystem will be key to advancing growth and opportunity in the region.

The NCCI Secretariat congratulates the new leadership and reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Katima Mulilo branch as it strengthens private-sector representation in the Zambezi Region.
