Human-centric design meets refined performance
Mazda Southern Africa is positioning the new Mazda CX-60 as more than just another SUV. Designed around the needs of modern drivers, it combines premium styling, thoughtful technology and everyday practicality in a package that aims to make every journey more enjoyable.
The CX-60 forms part of Mazda's growing premium SUV range and reflects the brand's focus on craftsmanship and driver engagement. Its bold proportions, sculpted bodywork and refined design not only give it a strong road presence but also improve aerodynamics and stability.
According to Deolinda Da Costa, Head of Marketing at Mazda Southern Africa, the CX-60 has been developed with people at the centre of its design."The Mazda CX-60 represents our commitment to designing vehicles around people, their lifestyles, their needs and their aspirations," she said.
One of the model's standout features is Mazda's Facial Recognition Driver Personalisation System – the only system of its kind offered by an automotive manufacturer. It can recognise up to six different drivers and automatically adjust settings such as the seat position, steering wheel, mirrors and climate control to suit each individual.
Performance has also been carefully considered. Whether tackling busy city streets or long-distance journeys, the CX-60 is designed to deliver a smooth, confident and responsive drive.
Choices, choices, choices
Buyers can choose between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models. The 2.5-litre petrol engine produces 141kW of power and 261Nm of torque, offering a balance of performance, refinement and fuel efficiency.
Higher-specification models include selectable drive modes such as Sport, Off-Road and Towing, allowing the vehicle to adapt to different road conditions and driving needs.
Inside, the cabin reflects Mazda's human-centred design philosophy. Premium materials, leather-appointed finishes and a clean, uncluttered layout create a comfortable environment, while features such as dual-zone climate control, a digital instrument cluster and a driver-focused cockpit help reduce fatigue on longer trips.
Technology is integrated to enhance the driving experience without becoming distracting. Depending on the model, drivers can enjoy a 12-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, wireless phone charging, integrated navigation, a head-up display, a 12-speaker BOSE® sound system and a 360-degree camera system.
Safety first
Safety remains a key focus. The CX-60 is equipped with an extensive range of driver assistance systems, including Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Smart Brake Support, Adaptive LED Headlamps and Driver Attention Alert.
Practical touches further enhance its appeal. A hands-free powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, rear USB-C charging ports, flexible luggage space and premium seating options make the SUV well suited to family life, business travel and weekend adventures alike.
Mazda says the CX-60 reflects its ongoing commitment to quality, durability and engineering excellence, while delivering the comfort, technology and driving enjoyment that today's motorists expect.
Built around the brand's "Wonderrrr Awaits" philosophy, the Mazda CX-60 aims to offer drivers a premium SUV that is as rewarding to drive as it is to live with.
