Greenwall Matongo constituency welcomes MTC mobile home
MTC recently opened a mobile home shop to alleviate the pressure of off its Blackchain mobile home, bringing the total number of shops countrywide to 37 across Namibia, marking a major milestone to enhancing local access to MTC’s full suite of ICT services.
Communications minister Emma Teofilus said the shop would aid her ministry's efforts to promite digitial inclusion.
“This is a proud and crucial moment for digital inclusion in Namibia. MTC’s new facility supports our national objective to democratise access to ICT across all constituencies. ICT services have proven to be a connecter between the informal and formal economy. And as Minister, I celebrate MTC’s leadership in bridging the digital divide and driving inclusive growth. Greenwell Matongo is in Samora Machel constituency, arguably the biggest and densest in Khomas region, hence, I commend this move which will ensure that your services are not delayed or hard to access," Teofilus said.
MTC’s financial director, Thinus Smit reaffirmed MTC’s commitment to serving with excellence. “Today we reaffirm MTC’s commitment to bringing world class service directly to underserved communities. The Greenwell Matongo Mobile Home is a permanent installation where people can walk in for contract applications, SIM replacement, account payments and renewal, data and device set-up, contract enquiries, top ups, recharge vouchers, amongst others.”
According to Smit, pressure on the Black Chain home rendered it not sufficient to service demand. “MTC has a big customer base in Katutura, which rendered our Mobile Home at Katutura Black Chain no longer sufficient to meet the growing demand. Given the long queues that form there (at black chain), as a customer-centric company, we have taken a decision to open a new and 2nd MTC Mobile home in Katurura, here in Eveline Street -bringing the crucial services nearer and improving the experience of our customers," he said.
Windhoek mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja in her remarks commended MTC and urged other companies to emulate the example set.
“This is plausible. By opening your doors here, you are not only prioritizing convenience, but also affirming that Katutura, home to most of Windhoek’s residents, deserves equal access to opportunities. Let this be a model for others. Businesses must go where their customers are, whether in Okuryangava, Havana, or Goreangab," Larandja said.
