First Shell lubricants model shop launched

As part of its mission to be the energy the drives localised economic growth, Vivo Energy Namibia, the local licencee for Shell fuels and lubricants, has proudly introduced its inaugural Shell Helix lubricants model store in Windhoek last week.

Situated at Classic Tyre Centre along the iconic Eveline Street, the shop is a self-contained small-scale lube centre where clients can access the highest-quality lubricants and expert advice in decentralised areas, adding to time and cost of ownership efficiency, while spurring development alongside emerging entrepreneurs.

Eduan Riekert, Vivo Energy Namibia’s manager for lubricants, shared his team’s passion for this project.

“Every day, a multitude of Namibian citizens use public transport, commercial vehicles and agro or industrial implements to drive growth in our economy, and through this Shell Helix lubricants model shop concept, we seek to not only support these sectors as vehicles of growth with lubricants that will save them money in the long run, but to assist small- to medium-sized enterprises to create sustainable engines for empowerment in their communities.”



The customer at the core

“Our clients are our focus. Their continued support is at the core of our success, so we remain committed to bring only the finest fuels, lubricants and levels of service to market, which is why we are very excited to be launching this new initiative as it will increase the accessibility of our products while stimulating entrepreneurial development in the informal economy,” Vivo Energy Namibia managing director Edward Walungembe said.

Customers were treated to prize give-aways and a jovial atmosphere as the new co-owner of the first model shop, Ndapandula Jasper of Kilimanjaro Auto Spares, personally helped clients with their purchases.

“As a team, we are so excited for this great opportunity and I feel that this will make an impact on the community as they can now access premium lubricants and advice from our well-trained staff, so we definitely commend Vivo Energy Namibia for this sterling initiative,” she said enthusiastically.



How to get involved

Through their focus to spur on decentralised investment, Vivo Energy Namibia has - along with many partners and entrepreneurs - grown its footprint to the widest nationally, spanning 71 locations across the country.

With this new offering, they again invite entrepreneurs to come on board and establish more lubricant model shops across the country with their support.
