Electric mobility range to launch

KANDI Namibia is set to officially launch its range of electric-powered golf carts and Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) with an exclusive golf tournament at Omeya Golf Club on 18 September 2026.

The official KANDI Golf Cart Launch Tournament will bring together corporate leaders, business representatives and avid golfers for a day of golf, networking and entertainment, as well as a first look at KANDI Namibia’s new electric mobility range.

Bringing electric mobility to Namibia

Based at Omeya Golf Estate, KANDI Namibia specialises in the sales, financing, servicing and maintenance of electric-powered golf carts, UTVs and related mobility solutions.

The company aims to provide reliable, affordable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions for golf courses and estates, lodges, game farms, agricultural operations, businesses, residential developments, institutions and private customers.

Gerard Erasmus of KANDI Namibia said the company sees an opportunity to make electric mobility a practical option for a wide range of applications in Namibia.

“We are excited to bring KANDI to Namibia at a time when businesses and individuals are looking for more efficient and sustainable ways to move people, equipment and goods. Our vehicles are designed for real working environments, whether that is a golf estate, lodge, game farm, agricultural operation or commercial property.”

The KANDI range includes electric golf carts as well as utility vehicles designed for more demanding environments. The vehicles offer an alternative to conventional fuel-powered transport, with the potential for lower operating and maintenance costs and zero direct emissions.

Among the vehicles being introduced is the ZT-US01 UTV, an electric utility vehicle designed for off-road and working environments. The vehicle features a 10kW AC motor with peak power of up to 25kW, a 73.6V 150Ah lithium battery, independent double-wishbone suspension, hydraulic disc brakes and a minimum ground clearance of 290mm.

The UTV offers a claimed cruising range of 80 to 100 kilometres and a cargo-loading capacity of 350kg, with an optional towing capacity of up to 1 000kg. It also features electric power steering, LED lighting, a collapsible pneumatic windscreen, manual four-wheel drive and a low-speed towing mode.

More than vehicle sales

KANDI Namibia’s offering extends beyond the sale of vehicles. The company will provide financing solutions, scheduled maintenance and repairs, genuine spare parts, battery replacement, vehicle collection and delivery services, and fleet management support.

Erasmus said after-sales service would be a key part of the business.

“For us, it is about much more than putting an electric vehicle on the market. We want to build a complete support network around our customers so that they have access to servicing, parts and ongoing assistance throughout the life of their vehicle.”

The company plans to offer mobile maintenance and repair services, maintenance contracts and flexible financing options as it develops its presence across Namibia.

Golfing about

The launch tournament on 18 September will serve as the official introduction of KANDI Namibia to the market.

Registration and arrival takes place from 08:00, followed by a 09:00 shotgun start. The tournament will use a 4-Ball Alliance format, with two scores to count and a scramble drive.

Dinner and prize-giving will follow from 16:30.

The event includes green fees and the KANDI “Electric Oasis” beverage station. Players will also receive a KANDI welcome pack.

The day will conclude with a Namibian rotisserie braai buffet at the Omeya Clubhouse, prize-giving, luxury lodge vouchers and a showcase of some of the new KANDI fleet. The Ells will provide live entertainment.

One of the major attractions will be the hole-in-one competition, with a brand-new KANDI GOLFER electric golf cart available to the player who successfully aces the designated Par-3 hole.

“We want our launch to reflect what KANDI Namibia is about: bringing people together, creating strong relationships and showcasing what electric mobility can offer. Omeya provides the perfect setting because golf and electric mobility naturally come together,” said Erasmus.
