The National Theatre of Namibia came alive on Friday, 11 July, as The Hoeked Comedy All Stars delivered an evening of uproarious laughter, cultural jabs and impeccable showmanship.

Hosted by the energetic Rob Van Vuuren and organised by L.A. Entertainment, the show was a masterclass in comedy production and execution.

The line-up featured Namibia’s own Waylene Beukes, who opened the evening with a sharp set that struck the perfect balance between personal and political.

Robby Collins filled in for Dillan Oliphant, who was unable to perform as scheduled due to travel-related challenges. Oliphant proved a worthy substitute with slick delivery and punchlines tailored for the Namibian crowd. The night belonged to headliner Loyiso Gola, who closed the show with a set that demonstrated why he remains one of Africa’s most respected comedic voices.

Beyond the laughs, The Hoeked Comedy All Stars was also a platform for development. A day before the show, L.A. Entertainment hosted a workshop for aspiring comedians, directors and talent managers, underscoring their commitment to growing Namibia’s comedy ecosystem.

This publication attended the first night of the comedy showcase and captured moments from an evening that left Windhoek smiling.
