CityBlue Hotels embraces AI-Native Operations
CityBlue Hotels, one of Africa’s fastest-growing hotel groups, has selected UK-based platform Inntelo AI to deploy AI-native concierge agents across its portfolio. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the group’s strategy to lead the next phase of hospitality innovation on the continent. The announcement was unveiled at the Future Hospitality Summit Africa, held in Nairobi on 31 March 2026.
The rollout represents one of the first large-scale implementations of AI-native concierge agents in the African hospitality sector, positioning CityBlue Hotels at the forefront of AI-driven transformation.
With operations currently spanning Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania, and upcoming expansions planned for Ghana, Uganda, and Zambia—alongside strategic partnerships in South Africa and Mozambique—the collaboration comes amid significant growth in Africa’s tourism sector, driven by increased intra-African travel and rising global demand.
As part of its digital strategy, CityBlue Hotels will deploy Inntelo AI’s platform to embed artificial intelligence directly into its hotel operations. The system coordinates guest interactions and service workflows in real time, enabling faster response times, improved task prioritisation, and consistent service delivery. This allows hotel teams to focus on high-value, in-person guest engagement.
Furthermore, the partnership includes the development of educational programmes designed to advance skills, innovation, and AI adoption throughout Africa’s hospitality industry.
Jameel Verjee, CEO of CityBlue Hotels, said: “CityBlue has always focused on the future of our markets. As we scale, AI-native operations become essential to delivering consistency, speed, and quality across multiple geographies. This partnership allows us to embed AI at the core of our operations, supporting our teams in real time, reducing friction, and elevating the guest experience. Just as importantly, we are shaping how AI is applied within an African context.”
