Call for nominations: Community Project of the Year 2025
Recognising impact through agriculture
The Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU) invites nominations for the Community Project of the Year 2025 Award, which celebrates agricultural initiatives making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
The award recognises innovative, sustainable and community-driven projects that empower individuals, improve livelihoods, and create lasting impact. Projects may include poverty alleviation, training programmes, conservation efforts, or other initiatives that contribute positively to communities through agriculture.
Last year’s award went to the Dexter Cattle Project, initiated by the Helmeringhausen Farmers’ Association. The project supports small-scale farmers by promoting self-sufficiency through livestock farming, while providing income and training opportunities for disadvantaged communities.
With support from Feedmaster, which donated N$10 000, the project continues to empower participants and improve living conditions.
To nominate a project, submit the project name, contact details, and a short motivation (maximum one page), including specific examples of its contributions. Nominations should be sent to Tanja Dahl at [email protected] .
