Bold new design, smarter tech, and the same practicality drivers love

Here’s what to expect from the next-generation Haval H6
This week on My.na Cars, presenter Diana Master caught up with Ronnie Shithigona, Vehicle Sales Consultant at Pupkewitz, to take a closer look at one of Namibia's hottest new releases the all-new Haval H6. And if first impressions count, the bold exterior of this next-generation SUV speaks volumes.

“The new-generation Haval H6 now comes with a bigger and bolder front grille, sleek LED daytime running lights, and striking 19” blacked-out alloy wheels,” explained Shithigona. “These features are now standard across all models.”

Another noticeable change is the branding. Where it once simply said Haval, the rear of the new H6 now proudly displays the name GWM — a nod to the manufacturer, Great Wall Motors. “It’s about brand pride,” said Shithigona. “Haval falls under the GWM umbrella, and we want to showcase that.”

But it’s not just about looks. The H6 is loaded with features that blend practicality with luxury. A 360-degree camera system, electronic tailgate, keyless entry, and high-mounted roof rails all come as standard. And for shoppers, there’s a little magic too — quite literally.

“If your hands are full, a simple kick under the rear bumper closes the boot automatically,” said Diana, visibly impressed. “It’s the little things that make me happy!”

Speaking of boot space, the H6 hasn’t compromised on what made its predecessor popular. “You still get 600 litres of storage at the back,” said Shithigona. “That includes a spare wheel and all necessary tools, even if it’s not a full-size spare.”

The new H6 is available in an elegant range of colours, including Noble Gold (the launch colour), Sun Black, Hamilton White, and Grey — each adding to its road presence.

Step Inside: Technology Meets Comfort

Once inside, it’s clear the Haval H6 is not just about show; it’s about experience. The interior features a 14” infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a 10” digital instrument cluster that displays everything from tyre pressure to average fuel consumption.

“You also get nine speakers with solid bass,” noted Shithigona, “perfect for road trips or just city cruising with friends.”

Comfort is further enhanced by driver seat memory, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad. A multi-function steering wheel allows drivers to customise their display and access key controls without taking their hands off the wheel.

Other tech-savvy touches include:

• Speed-based automatic window closing

• Customisable ambient lighting

• Auto-off headlights with a delay setting for safe entry at night

In a neat design update, the gear selector has been repositioned to the driver’s right, opening up additional space for cupholders and storage.

With its combination of premium design, innovative features and proven practicality, the Haval H6 is clearly stepping up its game.

Want the full breakdown of what’s new and exciting in this smart SUV?
