Blush Foundation hosts fundraiser on dementia awareness in women

On Saturday, 21 June 2025, the Blush Foundation, in partnership with Nedbank Namibia, hosted its annual fundraiser event at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund. The event, themed ‘Dementia Awareness in Women,’ attracted over 130 guests, including leading health experts, performers, and empowered women from across Namibia. While the primary focus was on dementia awareness, the proceeds from the fundraiser were dedicated to supporting the Blush Foundation’s flagship initiative — The Sanitary Towel Project.This project aims to combat period poverty by raising funds to procure and distribute sanitary towels to young girls and women in vulnerable communities across Namibia. By addressing the critical need for menstrual hygiene, the Foundation helps restore dignity, confidence, and access to education for hundreds of girls each year. Jonathan Harris, Co-founder of the Blush Foundation, welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude to the event sponsors for their support. "This fundraiser is another testament to what is possible when communities and corporates unite for a cause. Dementia awareness may have been our focus today, but the ripple effects reach much further in our communities."Nedbank Namibia Head of Private Banking Rosy Eixas, also spoke at the event, emphasising the importance of private sector involvement in driving social impact. Additionally, we donated funds to amplify the foundation's cause further.
