Bank Windhoek launches new EasyPOS device

Bank Windhoek recently launched its new handheld Point-of-Sale (POS) device, designed to improve payment processing for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The Bank said that this payment solution will streamline SMEs’ operations, enhance customer experiences, and enable seamless transactions on the go, further strengthening Bank Windhoek's commitment to supporting this important segment of the Namibian economy.Bank Windhoek’s Executive Officer of Business Banking and Acting Executive Officer of Retail Banking Services, Leon Koch, said that the Bank Windhoek EasyPOS was introduced to empowerbusinesses, especially those without fixed locations, to accept payments anytime, anywhere.“The Bank Windhoek EasyPOS allows customers to offer convenient payment solutions to their clients, no matter where they are,” he said.The Bank Windhoek EasyPOS is available to qualifying SME customers with an annual turnover not exceeding N$5 million Namibian dollars. The device features a practical and compact design,complemented by advanced functionalities including extended battery longevity, electronic receipt generation via email, rapid transaction processing, a large touchscreen interface, and versatile connectivity options via SIM card or Wi-Fi, thereby ensuring uninterrupted payment processing capabilities in virtually any setting.“This payment solution is strategically targeted towards key SME sectors, namely Fast-Moving Consumable Goods (FMCG), encompassing both established retail outlets and temporary pointsof sale; Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), facilitating payment acceptance for delivery services; and Transport services, enabling fare collection for taxi and bus operators engaged in both intraand inter-urban transit”, said Koch, who concluded that the Bank Windhoek EasyPOS is already gaining traction among early adopters, who reported improved efficiency, faster checkouts, andbetter customer retention.
