Bank of Namibia and Namfisa to launch 2025 Financial Stability Report

The Bank of Namibia (BoN) and the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (Namfisa) will jointly unveil the annual Financial Stability Report (FSR) for 2025 on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The report, themed "Safeguarding Financial Stability in a Changing Global Landscape," offers a comprehensive analysis of the Namibian financial system's risks, vulnerabilities, and resilience.The 2025 FSR will provide a comprehensive assessment of risks and vulnerabilities in the Namibian financial system and evaluate its resilience to domestic and global shocks.The report outlines trends in the financial soundness indicators for domestic banking institutions, stress test simulations, and developments in the non-banking financial institutions (NBFI) sector. In addition, the report analyses developments in the payment infrastructure and regulatory developments and concludes with macroprudential surveillance.The release of the FSR reinforces the commitment of the Bank and NAMFISA to safeguarding the integrity and stability of Namibia’s financial system, ensuringtransparency, and enhancing public trust in financial oversight. It also serves as a call to action for industry participants to remain vigilant and responsive to emerging risks, and for consumers to stay informed and cautious in an increasingly complex financial landscape.
