Access Bank licensed

MW Ledger

Access Bank Namibia has received full authorisation to conduct banking business in the country, effective 2 October 2026. The Bank of Namibia said the approval followed a comprehensive assessment under the Banking Institutions Act, 2023. The authorisation allows Access Bank Namibia to accept deposits and provide banking services to the public. The Nigerian-owned lender received provisional authorisation in October 2024 and had since been granted several extensions while it met the requirements for a full banking licence. The approval formally clears Access Bank Namibia to operate as a fully authorised commercial bank in Namibia.
