It is understood that surveillance cameras are installed on the bridge and at some nearby properties. Have investigators obtained and analysed the available footage to identify possible suspects?NATIONAL PATTERN: Similar copper cable thefts have been reported across Namibia. Have law enforcement agencies established whether these incidents are linked, or whether organised criminal networks may be involved?TECHNOLOGY: If Telecom Namibia, MTC Namibia and Paratus Namibia rely on comparable telecommunications infrastructure, why do Telecom Namibia’s copper cables appear to be disproportionately targeted?PREVENTATIVE MEASURES: Has Telecom Namibia considered expanding surveillance at known hotspots, including around manholes and vulnerable cable routes, to deter theft and improve the chances of identifying offenders?BUYERS AND SCRAP DEALERS: Have arrested suspects been questioned about the buyers of stolen copper?
