Productive resettlement in Namibia
Wallace Finnies writes from Gobabis:
Honorable Minister of Agriculture,Water and Land Reform, Cde Calle Schleitwein
I call upon you as the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform to only resettle people who have business ideas how they will utilize the land they are resettled on in order to increase productivity on this land and to avoid that the Government of the Republic of Namibia must always sustain that land. The Government cannot buy the land and also sustain it, as they resettle people there who can use the land to make money productively.
I also request the Minister to resettle people immediately once Government bought these farms for resettlement to avoid the property being deliberately destroyed as you don't have to employ security guards to guard these farms.
In the Omitara area you bought farms a long time ago and when I visited these farms a month ago, the houses and other properties were stolen and severely damaged.
Rumaz Investment CC applied to be resettled there and we offered to repair all damaged properties if we are resettled there as a disadvantage group who also intend to establish a poultry factory there to produce and supply chicken to Namibians instead of importing chicken from the Republic of Brazil.
