Equal ratio
CONCERNED NAMIBIAN WRITES:
Affirmative Action was supposed to promote equal employment opportunities and address past injustices. However, this has not been successful.
Affirmative Action only benefits one race in the North. We do not benefit from it. People in the South do not benefit from this. Ninety percent of the people in the South are unemployed. They have no income to put food on the table. Our children faint in class because they have not eaten for days. As a result, they do not perform well in school as they cannot concentrate in class. The South has many resources and could have a comfortable life, but we are not benefiting from our own resources. All the resources go to waste; they are not reaching us.
We need a system that will bring equality. Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources and opportunities. All workers and job applicants must be treated equally and given the same set of opportunities, regardless of their race, gender, or religion. This means treating all job applicants and employees equally and ensuring advancement opportunities for all.
It must be a system where employers (government included) hire an equal ratio percentage of different languages, races, or groups that represent the country, like men and women, is a form of diversity and inclusion initiative aimed at achieving equality. This can involve a 50/50 gender split as a target, to include all different races-language groups.
There should be an equal ratio of the different languages/races and groups that represent the country. There should also be an equal ratio of male and female employees in the workplace. Companies should be required to hire an equal ratio of the different groups of people (the different races/languages) that represent the country. This must be an equal ratio of the different groups. They should include 50% male and 50% female employees.
The history and the past was corrected for 35 years. I think it is enough now. We must let go of the grudges that we hold against the whites. We should not keep on punishing them for what their ancestors did. We should pardon the whites for the past.
Swapo has also done an injustice to us. The resources are not distributed equally, etc. They favour the Northern race. That is injustice, etc. However, we do not hold a grudge against them.
