Honde nou gelukkiger

Die Grootfontein Dierebeskermingsvereniging (DBV) het onlangs ’n suksesvolle dag gehou waar 130 honde van lae-inkomstehuishoudings teen bosluise behandel (gedip) is.

Ronelle Pienaar sê die eienaars het hul honde aangery, aangedra of met hulle aangestap gekom met enige tipe leiband, soos kettings, bande, kragdrade en toue waarmee die honde in toom gehou is.

“Alta Scott, hoof van die Grootfontein DBV, het uit haar pad gegaan om raad te gee, nekbande losser te maak en honde, sowel as hul eienaars – wat aanvanklik onseker was – oor die situasie gerus te stel.”

Die honde het verwese voorgekom nadat hulle behandel is, maar op die ou einde was mens en dier tevrede. Dit danksy al die vrywilligers en borge wat hand bygesit het om die dag vlot te laat verloop.

Die DBV het hul dank uitgespreek teenoor borge, soos Kyron Animal Health vir die vloeistof om die bosluise mee te behandel (dip), Grootfontein Agrimark vir die sleepwa met water, Kobus en Carin Brandt vir die knapsack-spuite en Erich Simon en Pieter Mutschler vir hul ondersteuning om die dag moontlik te maak.
