Afrikaanse Wikipedia-span op soek na jou bydra

Die Afrikaanse Wikipedia-span uit Suid-Afrika sal Windhoek eersdaags besoek om Namibiërs bekend te stel aan die Afrikaanse weergawe van hierdie aanlyn ensiklopedie.

Die Afrikaanse Wikipedia is die Afrikaanse weergawe van dié gratis aanlyn ensiklopedie wat wêreldwyd deur vrywilligers in hul moedertale geskep word. Wikipedia is tans in 332 tale beskikbaar.

Die Afrikaanse Wikipedia groei sterk en is op die oomblik die grootste Wikipedia op die Afrika-vasteland, met meer as 107 000 berigte wat dit in die 69ste plek op die wêreldranglys plaas en word maandeliks tussen 10 en 12 miljoen keer besoek.

Volgens ’n mediaverklaring deur die SA Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns is dié Wikipedia ook ’n belangrike hulpbron in die bevordering van Afrikaans as ’n wetenskapstaal.

Die direkteur van die Afrikaanse Wikipedia, Deon Steyn, lig Donderdag 27 April die sluier in Windhoek oor Wikipedia se doen en late. Steyn sal belangstellendes touwys maak oor hoe om ’n vrywilliger te word asook hoe om artikels te skep of by te dra tot bestaande artikels op die Afrikaanse Wikipedia.
