Swakopmund Acapella Singers to host joint concert
Three choirs
Swakopmund Acapella Singers will be in concert the Hosianna Youth Choir on 25 November in Walvis Bay.
Swakopmund Acapella Singers, a male a-cappella group from Swakopmund, will be in concert with the Hosianna Youth Choir on 25 November, at Hosianna Parish in Walvis Bay.
The concert will kick off at 19:00 and will also feature guest choir Dynamic Vocals. Founder and chairman of the group Titage /Uiseb explained that the concert is aimed at boosting youth activeness and cultural diversity. "We have been working on great acapella songs which will bring the choral and acapella lovers to their feet,"
"We will be having a collaboration song with the Hosianna and Dynamic Vocals, and it will be extraordinary. I would wholeheartedly invite the Walvis Bay family to come and enjoy their Friday evening with us, at Hosianna Parish,"
/Uiseb pointed out that they also had a concert with the Cgals Chamber choir in July. We always have joint concerts with other choirs to share musical and managerial ideas in order to grow the channels throughout the country,"
Swakopmund Acapella Singers perform gospel, African traditional hymns, folk songs, choral, acapella, and various covers from all over the world. They usually perform at Ocean Cellars and Brewer and Butcher, the Strand hotel restaurants, and also entertain guests on cruise ships, at gala dinners, weddings, birthday parties, business gatherings, and during township tours.
Since being established, the singers have moved from being a laid-back social group of friends to a choir that prepares and participates in international competitions. Over the years, the choir has traveled to Norway and competed in the ATKV Animato competition in South Africa where they won second place. The choir passed the Advanced Trinity Choral examination with 91% at the UNISA Advanced choir examination in 2014 and 2017 achieving 97% both times, as well as passing the Advanced Choral examination with an A-symbol.
/Uiseb added that the singers will also be having a Christmas show performance at the Farmhouse Deli on 24 December.
