Bartlett has contributed her experience to the younger generation introduced during last week's tournament in Cape Town.
Following last week’s Nkosi Cup indoor tournament in Cape Town, Jerrica Bartlett has announced her official retirement from international hockey, leaving behind a legacy that is nothing short of legendary.
Reaching 115 national caps is a staggering testament to Jerrica's character and endurance, since Namibia is not among the most exposed countries in international hockey,
The milestone represents a career with hundreds of early mornings, countless sacrifices, and an unwavering commitment to the flag.
Bartlett (35) and her younger sister Kiana-Ché Cormack (24) both represented Namibia at the most recent FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup in Croatia during January this year.
The Namibia Hockey Union said in a statement: “From the intensity of 75 indoor internationals, to the grind of the outdoor season, Jerrica has been a constant for our nation through every cycle of growth. Ending her career on a high with a bronze medal at the Nkosi Cup is a fitting finish a true ambassador of the game deserves.
“Thank you, Jerrica, for your years of service and for showing us all what it means to play for Namibia.”
