#PAS IN: TB-siftingsveldtog in Khomas onderweg

As deel van die ministerie van gesondheid en maatskaplike dienste se pogings om tuberkulose (TB) in die land uit te wis, is ‘n massa siftingsveldtog tans in die Khomasstreek onderweg. Namibië is een van die top tien lande in die wêreld wat die hoogste gevalle per 100 000 inwoners jaarliks aangemeld word. Verlede jaar is 8 604 nuwe gevalle aangemeld, waarvan 15% in Khomas was.

Die veldtog het reeds in September in die Hardapstreek afgeskop, gevolg deur Omaheke en Khomas waar toetse tot 21 Oktober in Windhoek gedoen sal word. Deel van die toetse sluit ‘n tuberkulientoets, X-strale asook spoeg- en urienetoetse. Veral inwoners met ‘n lae immuniteit, wat met MIV saamleef, asook kinders onder vyf jaar en bejaardes word aangemoedig om vir die toetse te gaan.

18 - 19 Oktober Okuryangava/ Tobias Hainyeko Visverbruikerssaal (Fish consumption)

20 Oktober Katutura Sentraal Damara Lokasie

21 Oktober Katutura Sentraal Enkelkwartiere
