PAS IN: NAMIBIË OORWEEG NIE REISBEPERKINGS TEEN CHINA

Die minister van gesondheid en maatskaplike dienste, dr. Kalumbi Shangula, sê Namibië oorweeg nie tans die instelling van enige reisbeperkings teen China nie.

Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) het Shangula vanoggend om kommentaar genader oor lande wat toenemend reisbeperkings as voorsorgmaatreël afkondig ná China se skielike opskorting van sy zero-Covid-beleid ‘n reusetoename van Covid-19-gevalle in dié land tot gevolg gehad het.

Volgens Shangula monitor die regering die Covid-situasie wêreldwyd sedert die afstelling van maatreëls plaaslik. Die regering is bewus van ‘n styging in gevalle in sekere lande in die wêreld, het hy gesê.

“Ons monitor die situasie en oorweeg in dié stadium nie nuwe stappe nie,” het hy gesê.

Covid-19-gevalle word steeds in Namibië aangemeld, veral in Khomas en Erongo, aldus Shangula. Sowat twee tot drie gevalle word daagliks in dié streke aangemeld.
