Digitale inentingskaarte oor 2 weke beskikbaar

Digitale inentingsertifikate vir Namibiërs wat ten volle ingeënt is, behoort binne die volgende twee weke of selfs vroeër in werking te tree. Suid-Afrika vereis van Namibiërs om digitale sertifikate te toon en aanvaar nie die inentingskaarte wat tans in gebruik is nie.

Die uitvoerende direkteur van gesondheid en maatskaplike dienste, mnr. Ben Nangombe, sê die ministerie in samewerking met die Afrika-unie en die Afrika Sentrums vir Siektebeheer en Voorkoming (Africa CDC) het met die tegniese hulp van die PanaBios Consortium die Trusted Travel-stelsel geïmplementeer om reisigers se sertifikate van toetsuitslae te verifieer.

'n Module in die stelsel, Trusted Vaccines, word gebruik om digitale inentingskaarte te genereer vir mense wat ten volle ingeënt is.

"Dié module is aangepas vir Namibië en word tans verfyn om foute uit te skakel wat geïdentifiseer is met die toetsproses, en voor dit amptelik bekend en in werking gestel word," het Nangombe gesê.

Volgens hom is die ministerie ook in gesprek met Suid-Afrikaanse owerhede oor moontlike tussentydse maatreëls vir Namibiërs wat na die buurland wil reis. In tussentyd word inwoners aangeraai om negatiewe PCR-toetsuitslae te toon soos Suid-Afrika vereis. – [email protected]
