Coastal Trade Fair aims to boost local entrepreneurs and SMEs
First ever Coastal Trade Fair
The Atusheni Organization is thrilled to announce the launch of the Coastal Trade Fair taking place in Swakopmund
The newly introduced Coastal Trade Fair, part of the Atusheni Organization, is set to open its doors from 25 to 29 June at the Mondesa multipurpose centre.
After a year of meticulous planning, the event received approval in late April and promises to be a significant addition to the community's calendar.
Mary Shikongo, the organizer emphasized that the event is aimed to bring the community together, “my main aim is to promote and uplift upcoming entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs”.
Shikongo envisions the Coastal Trade Fair growing into an annual event starting in 2025.
"I want it to be one of the biggest and most enjoyed trade fairs in Namibia, as it is hosted in the country’s best town.
Discussing the logistics, Shikongo outlined the costs associated with water, electricity, grounds, and security services. Stalls will be available for N$700 to N$1000, depending on the type of business. “We charge the exhibitors according to what they sell and also consider the distance they have travelled”.
“We are considerate, especially to start-ups, with the aim to uplift. We don’t turn them back but accept a fair amount of what they can afford,” she added.
Shikongo calls on young and upcoming entrepreneurs to showcase their goods and products by registering their businesses to secure a spot.
