Henriette Lamprecht – She chose the name Charlie because to her, it represents every bit of the part of a woman who feels, has a bad day, fights for what she wants, and wants to be loved. Namesake and creator of All things Charlie, Charlie Hartung, spent a number of years shedding the old and truly reinventing herself. From a corporate career that spanned over 15 years, she went to work for her family, had another baby, and developed issues with high blood pressure - which led to a fitness journey and losing 30 kg.She really put herself first, says Charlie, and she is fortunate to have a very supportive, loving, and understanding husband. People would often ask where she finds time for everything, but she gets the job done no matter what it is.“I work at a high pace, I am effective, and I work efficiently.”This also planted the seed for creating All Things Charlie, an online platform to share information and ideas, experiences and knowledge on everything as women. From motherhood to cooking, to business, hair, style and self-care, to health, fitness, and skincare.“It was a question of ‘let me show you how'. I got a few of my friends and service providers to buy into the concept, and here we are - more than a year later.”Although they share a name, she is not the Charlie the website refers to.“Charlie means strong, ‘free man’. I chose it because, to me, Charlie is every bit of that part of us who feels, laughs, cries, plans, messes up, loses her cool, has a bad day, wins, loses, prays, believes in what is right, fights for what she wants, stands tall and importantly, who wants to be loved and sometimes just needs a hug!” Charlie is everything we are, everything we have to be daily to make our lives work, she explains.She wants it to be a safe space for women to learn from each other, ask questions and get answers to things they wonder about. To meet like-minded people who want the same things. “Like an encyclopedia filled with information.”Her wish for the website is to keep growing with contributors and content, for the content to remain relevant, and for the community to be inspired to live their best life. It is in our DNA as women to have a soul connection with others, says Charlie.“The Covid-19 pandemic definitely made us more aware of what we value in life and reminded us to live with purpose.” She is clear about her goals and what she aims to achieve through everything she does. Some missions, she admits, are more daunting and require more on a spiritual and emotional level. “My children know that what mommy does is very important. They know how much I love them and when I’m home, I am present. I don’t bring work or boardroom stress home with me. It’s a rule I’ve had my entire working life.”As a planner, making lists and prioritising, Charlie thrives under pressure, showing up when a deadline is staring her in the face. But, she admits, she’s also a huge procrastinator. She lives by the verse in Luke 12:48: "To whom much is given, much will be required."“Whether it’s your knowledge or your time or posessions, I love to help. To make someone’s life easier and to make a tangible difference.”Charlie finds happiness in her family and seeing her children - “the most incredible little people” - grow. “Progress and growth makes me happy. Progress at work and within myself, my friendships, and my marriage. I always want to evolve as a business owner, mother, wife, daughter, and friend.” She hopes to leave a legacy as a visionary, a fierce woman and a game changer who unapologetically took what she wanted from life and made a difference wherever she could. “I make no excuses for who I am and what I have. I own my mistakes.”Her message to women is to make time to find what makes them happy and what makes them tick.“Invest in yourself and be that. Find what makes your soul happy and step into your greatness - whether it’s changing careers, having more kids, doing something you’ve been putting off, studying or losing weight."We tend to undersell ourselves, says Charlie, overanalysing situations while sometimes the change is very simple. “Surround yourself with positive, uplifting attitudes and choose your circle wisely.” On her bucket list is a long island holiday along clear waters, sipping cocktails all day. But also updating her formal education someday, and running just a half marathon. “I want to do more public speaking.
