When Namibia gained independence in 1990, a butchery named Porky’s Meat Market also opened its doors for the first time.What began as a modest family business, serving household favourites such as braai meat, biltong and droëwors, has grown into one of the country’s most trusted names in meat production and supply.Just four years after its founding, Porky’s expanded with a second branch in Windhoek’s Northern Industrial Area. Here, the business ventured beyond fresh cuts into producing an extended line of processed meats – Russians, Viennas and the now-iconic Original Polonies. These products quickly earned their place at family tables and have since become staples enjoyed across Namibia.In 2004, as demand continued to grow, Porky’s established its own dedicated factory on Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, where it proudly continues to operate today.
