Erongo police commander, commissioner Andreas Nelumbu, was recently appointed as the police attaché to Luanda (Angola), and in his place to lead the Erongo police will be commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona.

Nelumbu will be replacing commissioner Nicholas Endjala, who went on retirement, while deputy commissioner Kupembona was promoted from Khomas regional crime coordinator to commissioner rank and appointed as the Erongo police regional commander.

Kupembona told Erongo 24/7 that he will be officially introduced on 1 June, and that this will be his first time serving in Erongo.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity, and we will work together to maintain law and order in the region,” he said, adding that he will pronounce himself further once he takes his place.

Nelumbu, who took command of the Erongo police force in 2015, said that his time in the region was part of his appointed duties.

“I was in Erongo because my services required me to be there. Now I am required to go somewhere else. It is part of my duty in fulfilling my oath to serve our nation,” he told this publication.

“This is not a sentimental matter; it’s part of my duty.”
