UPDATE: Four Namibian crafters from the Namibia Craft Centre recently represented the country at the 2025 China-Africa Economic Trade Expo in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Their participation was made possible through the support of the National Arts Council of Namibia (NACN) via its mobility grant, which aims to strengthen the global footprint of Namibian creatives.A significant milestone was marked on 14 June 2025 when the Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, officially inaugurated the Namibia Permanent Pavilion at the Expo. The pavilion served not only as a trade platform but also as a vibrant display of Namibia’s creative talent and cultural innovation. The space provided an opportunity for Namibian artists and entrepreneurs to engage directly with international investors, laying a foundation for potential long-term partnerships and sustainable growth in the creative industries. “The participation of our creatives, facilitated by NACN, ensured that the authentic essence of Namibian creativity resonated deeply with the international audience,” the council said in a statement.
