Mineral sorting plant in the pipeline for Swakop
The municipality of Swakopmund granted approval to lease two hectares of land to the company.
RockSort Consulting intends to establish a mineral sorting and testing centre in Swakopmund which will also act as a mobile reference plant.
The municipality of Swakopmund supports the move and - "in principle" - granted approval to lease two hectares of land to the company.
In its application submitted to the Swakopmund municipal council, RockSort Consulting indicated that the centre will be used for marketing purposes and carrying out tests with customer samples. The mobile reference plant will be a containerized sorting plant that will operate as a service contractor for at least a year and can be moved when needed.
The operation of the start-up sorting plant will include the crushing and screening of ore material, sorting of any ore material, environmentally aware handing and discarding of any waste material, proposals for efficient on-site sorting and solutions to higher yield results and diagnostics of test results and accurate test reports for mines.
RockSort Consulting also intends to start up one full-size sorting plant with the capacity to accommodate at least 100 tons per hour of sample material. The company indicated that it wants to lease the piece of land for a period of five years with the option to purchase it after this period - where 80% of the lease period amount will be used as part of the payment for the property.

The company is family-owned with expertise in the sensor-based sorting industry and digital technologies, and focuses on upgrading the run of a mine and the reclamation of low-grade tailing dumps.
