Vision of ‘The NCG’ coming along nicely

The groundbreaking ceremony of the national cricket stadium currently being constructed in Olympia is a significant milestone for the sport in Namibia.

Architectural design plans has been released by Cricket Namibia of the facility to be utilised when Namibia will be a co-host of the 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup (along with Zimbabwe), as well as the 2027 ICC Men’s World Cup (along with South African and Namibia.

In his speech last Wednesday, Dr Rudie van Vuuren as president of Cricket Namibia related his vision of how the stadium announcer on the first World Cup match days would welcome the crowd at the Namibian Cricket Ground, also known as the NCG.
