Unbeaten NamPower are on a mission to demolish every opponent in their path in the CVA League.
NamPower captain David Katoma, leading the unbeaten defending champions, has declared their team ready to demolish whatever opponents they face in the Central Volleyball Association (CVA) League men’s division.
He made the remarks after the sixth-week matches recently concluded at Ramatex Hall in Windhoek, where they swept past their opponents, Training Establishment and University of Namibia (Unam) Kings D, in straight sets.
Speaking to this publication after their 3-0 win against Training Establishment, Katoma was all smiles: “It was quite an easy game for us as undefeated defending champions. We just need to keep pushing and work harder on the court. We want to take the trophy again this year,” he declared.
Other week six results in the men’s division saw a Unam derby between Kings and Kings D ending 3-0 in favour of the former, with another between Afrocat E and Afrocat D ending 3-0 to the latter.
Afrocat had a tough weekend, with Afrocat E suffering 3-0 defeats to both City of Windhoek and Namibia Defence Force (NDF) Hurricanes. Afrocat D, meanwhile, managed a 3-0 win over Afrocat E before falling 3-1 to City of Windhoek.
Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust) Falcons opened their campaign with a straight-set loss to Kudos but later redeemed themselves by beating Training Establishment 3-1.
Kudos also clinched a narrow 3-2 victory over Unam Kings.
In the women’s division, log leaders Deutscher Turn und Sportverein (DTS) clinched a straight-set victory in their single fixture against Unam Queens B, who went on to suffer a 3-0 loss to City of Windhoek.
City of Windhoek later bent the knee in a straight-set loss to Afrocat Ladies. Afrocat Titans had two fixtures, losing both by the same scoreline of 3-1 to Nust and City Warriors.
