Die trein van Keetmanshoop wat vanoggend in Windhoek moes aankom, ervaar tegniese probleme en staan tans by die Oamites-brug sowat 40 km buite die hoofstad.
Mnr. Pete Bartlet, een van die passasiers, sê die trein se vertrek uit Keetmanshoop is gisteraand (Donderdag) vertraag aangesien die lokomotief kompressieprobleme ervaar het.
Nadat nog ‘n lokomotief aangehaak is, het die trein vertrek. Dieselfde probleem het egter buite Rehoboth weer sy kop uitgesteek en uiteindelik het die trein by die Oamites-brug onklaar geraak.
Volgens Bartlet is daar families met jong kinders onder die passasiers. Hy het met 'n vriend uit Windhoek gereël om hom te gaan oplaai omdat dit onseker was hoe lank die passasiers daar gestrand sal wees.
