Still in the spirit of giving
The FNB Spirit of giving campaign did not end in December when the season of giving ended for many, but continued at FNB Namibia in the New Year when the One Legal Department decided to support a number of orphans with much needed school uniforms and stationary to ease their way back to school.
Francis du Plessis of FNB Namibia said that the One Legal Department of the bank had been alerted to the plight of these orphans and saw the value in assisting them to a right start to the new school year.
“After all – you have to start the New Year on the right note to remain happy and positive for the rest of the year.”
She adds: “After applying for the donation at FNB Marketing within the FNB Spirit of giving campaign we were awarded with an amount of N$5 000 to purchase school clothes for these orphans as well as some much needed stationery. We did this and the smiles on these children’s faces have been a most rewarding experience.”
The orphans Quinta, Livine, Hivene, Leonarda and Quensy are staying with their grandmother Johanna Eberenz. They attend MH Greeff Primary School while Leonarda is in grade 8 at the Cosmos High School.
Although the grandmother receives a monthly fee per child from the Government for the four children attending school, her basic needs are still huge and any assistance is welcomed with open arms.
