A camp cook is responsible for creating recipes and preparing all meals served at an outdoor, tourism, child care, or recreation facility.
“This always requires me to be on-hand most of the time and when not there, to fully rely on my subordinates,” he says.
According to Tjiveze the culinary profession is the most challenging and competitive disciplines to try and break into so if you want to secure a job one day there are certain characteristics you should possess as; having organisational skills and being inspired by creativity and able to pay attention to detail, with a strong desire to please but also have great stamina and be a team player to be able to handle criticism as well.
Although there is no set educational requirement for this career, a person interested in becoming a camp cook may attend a postsecondary culinary arts school to learn necessary techniques and skills.
