Die RMB Song Night-inisiatief wat op die been gebring is met die doel om Namibiese klanke te laat groei en ontwikkel, vier vanjaar sy tiende bestaansjaar.

Lize Ehlers, die stigter en direkteur van RMB Song Night, sê sedert dié gratis platform in 2011 begin het, het die betrokkenes onverpoos gewerk om honderde sangers uit al 14 streke van Namibië te bemagtig.

“Met 'n nederige begin het Song Night ’n eenvoudig platform gebied vir opkomende sangers om op te tree,” het Ehlers gesê.

‘EINDELOSE MOONTLIKHEDE’

Volgens Ehlers bied RMB Song Night meer as net ’n professionele verhoog met beligting- en klanktegnici aan aspirantmusikante.

“Die platform bied ook instrumentale begeleiding waarmee hulle kan optree, 'n klavierspeler vir die sangers wat hul eie akoestiese weergawe van 'n lied wil skep, 'n stemafrigter en 'n geleentheid wat duisend moontlikhede kan inhou,” het Ehlers gesê.

As gevolg van die pandemie moes Song Night by die “nuwe normaal” aanpas en het die platform in 2020 aanlyn beweeg. Meer as 25 000 mense het gedeel in nuwe Namibiese musiek wat saam met die RMB Song Night-band opgevoer is. Die opvoerings kan via facebook.com/songnightna gekyk word .

VIR DIE DAGBOEK

Vanaand word die eerste klassieke RMB Song Night ooit aangebied. Sluit tussen 19:00 en 20:00 op Facebook by die geleentheid aan om die klassieke klanke van die Namibian Music Ensemble met Glaucio Ngaca, Galilei Njembo, Elson Hindundu, Natasha Ndjiharine, Trudi Gertze en Eli Gentle, en begelei deur Retha-Louise Hofmeyr, te geniet.

Volgende Woensdag tree die sangeres Louisa April van 19:00 tot 19:30 op.
