Die Namibiese Instituut vir Patologie (NIP) gaan sy kapasiteit om weefselmonsters by sy laboratorium in Windhoek vir Covid-19 te toets met ‘n bykomende 192 toetse per dag verhoog.

Volgens mnr. Johannes Klemens sal dit dan die aantal toetse tot 327 per dag verhoog.

Die toetsing gaan ook na NIP se takke in Katima Mulilo, Keetmanshoop en Oshakati uitgebreik word. Volgens Klemens sal die laboratorium in Katima Mulilo teen 5 Junie 40 weefselmonsters per dag, Keetmanshoop 80 weefselmonsters per dag en Oshakati 96 weefselmonsters per dag kan toets.

Dit bring die totaal op 216 weefselmonsters wat per dag by dié takke getoets sal kan word.

In totaal sal NIP dan by die betrokke laboratoriums teen middel-Junie 543 toetse per dag oraloor in die land kan uitvoer.
