Namibia guzzles diesel
Namibia consumed 288 million litres of fuel in total in the second quarter of this year, 2.1% more than the same period in 2017 and an increase of 2.9% compared to the first quarter of 2018. According to the Bank of Namibia’s latest Quarterly Bulletin, the higher figures can be ascribed to more diesel used. The BoN says the consumption of diesel rose by 4.9% on an annual basis, while it increased by 3.7% quarter on quarter. Although consumption of petrol increased by 1.7% on a quarterly basis, it decreased by 2.3% year on year. Photo Nampa/Reuters
