Nuus van Meatco se herinstelling van die betaling van 15% BTW (belasting op toegevoegde waarde) op alle beestransaksies by die abattoir, is deur die NLU se uitvoerende hoof, mnr. Roelie Venter, as “baie positief” beskryf.

Meatco het vanoggend ‘n persverklaring uitgereik en gesê die besluit om vanaf 15 April ‘n BTW-koers van nul persent te betaal op vee wat aan abattoirs gelewer word, tydelik omgekeer word omdat dit verwarring skep en ruimte laat vir verskeie interpretasies.

Hulle sal wag tot die industrie die kwessie uitgeklaar het en sal in die tussentyd fakture oorbereken en uitstaande geld binne ‘n maand terugebetaal.
