I write this as a concerned Gibeon citizen.
Currently the contract of an employee at Gibeon Village Council has been terminated, only to work until a given time. Apparently for AWOL, disrespectful behaviour towards superiors, undermining authority, unethical behaviour and for other reasons – without being put on suspension and undergoing a proper hearing. This is totally unacceptable and hasn't been done according to the law.
Compare his situation and that of his fellow employees. Their situations are worse than his. This is corruption and favourtism.
All Gibeon citizens know the maintenance staff drink and hang out at shebeens and bars during working hours and AWOL from work due to hangover, use strong verbal language, are disrespectful and display improper behavior amongst them and in front of the clients. Superiors take leave whenever it suits them and the list goes on.
Now you tell me is this fair and the correct procedures according to the law?
Gibeon Village Council should be investigated properly by the Anti-Corruption Commission and the union should look into this matter. The CEO, HR and all the other superiors should be investigated. They are the ones who are full of corruption.
