’n Saak van strafbare manslag word ondersoek nadat 'n man Saterdagmiddag ná ’n motorfietsongeluk dood is en ’n vrou ernstig beseer is.
Na bewering het die oorledene, wat as die 49-jarige mnr. Johannes Marius Garbes geïdentifiseer is, en die passasier, ‘n volwasse vrou, met ‘n ongeregistreerde Honda-motorfiets in die duine op die plaas Eldorado in die Stampriet-omgewing gaan ry.
Hy het glo beheer oor die motorfiets verloor en dit het omgeslaan. Albei is in die proses ernstig beseer.
Hulle is na die staatshospitaal op Mariental gehaas, maar die oorledene is met sy aankoms dood verklaar. Die naasbestaandes is ingelig en polisieondersoek duur voort.
