Ashley Auxab is purpose-driven and goal-oriented man who is currently employed by Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) as an IT technician.

Auxab told Careers that growing up in Katutura taught him that we are all human beings and he does his best to treat everybody with respect regardless of their background.

At NWR he is responsible for providing IT support to the users within the organisation. His primary duty is to make sure that their ERP system and the internet are operational at all branches.

“Users need to understand that the ICT assets need to be catered as if it is their own because it will positively emulate their lifestyle simultaneously,” he says.

Auxab says he does not know challenges because he breaks down problems, decides on a course of action, and then sees it through to the end, decisively.

He adds that one of his greatest achievements was a successful project which he managed to install operational speedpoint connections at NWR resorts. Some camps are situated in remote areas, which means poor connectivity to the payment terminals.

He says their office is known as loving, caring and happy place to be in, so he likes to be at work.

“Being under the leadership of an excellent supervisor and impeccable manager is quite refreshing. I have built an excellent interpersonal relationship with our suppliers and service providers.”

Auxab believes what separates him from every other colleague in his department is that he was privileged enough to unleash his potential through service delivery. However, other colleagues in his department are all unique in their own way.

“I am nurturing my talent daily and facilitating innovation. My secret is that I am authentic, passionate about what I do and have a clear vision in the objectives of our department and organisation at large.”

His message to other young people is a quote by Dr Myles Munroe: “Being open to correction means making yourself vulnerable, and many people are not willing to do that.”

Asked about his future plans, he says he looks forward to inaugurating the best version of himself so that his legacy can proceed without hindrance.

He is inspired by his god-fearing grandmother who raised him. Besides being in the office he enjoys travelling and spending time with friends.
