Goeieman, Pritzen win WB Coastal Classic run
Athletes were able to flex their muscles over the weekend, taking on a 17 km course in the desert near Swakopmund.

The 2019 edition of the Woermann Brock (WB) Coast Classic took place at Goanikontes Oasis near Swakopmund this weekend.
The event featured a 17 km run, a 6 km fun run, and 17 km, 45 km and 75 km mountain-bike races along a challenging course through the Dorob National Park. Eric Goeieman won the men's 17 km run when he crossed the line in a time of 53:55, a few minutes ahead of Kephas Gebbard who was second with 55:33 on the clock. Nesley Gawaseb finished third in 1:00:18.
“I am feeling very happy for myself and also very proud of the hard work that I put in and for what I have done so far. I would like to say thank very much to Woermann Brock for the prize.
“For next year I will prepare again. It's a very tough course and next year I will look at improving my time,” said Goeieman in an interview after the race.
The women's 17 km run was won by Dunja Pritzen in a time of 1:09:39. She finished ahead of Elize Steyl (1:18:21) and Lydia Thiel (1:19:09).
“It was a good experience and a very good trail. It was tough but it was great. I am going to do the Hangana Hake 42 km marathon next weekend so we'll see how that will go.”
“Well done to Woermann Brock for organising this, you really did a great job,” said Pritzen after her victory.
