President Hage Geingob sê hy erken die dapper pogings van vroue om beter gemeenskappe te skep en tot die voorspoed van die mensdom by te dra.
Hy het Namibiese vroue in 'n verklaring wat pas deur Staatshuis uitgereik is, 'n gelukkige Vrouedag toegewens.
Die president wys in sy verklaring op die wetgewing en beleide wat Namibië het om vroue te bemagtig en gelykheid te bevorder.
"In erkenning van sy vordering met geslagsgelykheid, is Namibië deur die Afrika-geslagsforum as die nommer 1 land op die vasteland in die Gender is my Agenda-veldtog (Gimac) aangewys," sê Geingob.
