FNB Namibia launches 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign

FIRST National Bank Namibia launched its 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign in style at a jam-packed media conference at its Head Office Boardroom filled with sports and economic reporters.

“We have invited the media at the launch of this campaign to participate in the first-ever FNB Namibia 2010 FIFA World Cup Ticket Draw, provided they proof right there and then that they are account holders of FNB and to produce their FNB Visa Debit or Credit cards for everybody to see.

“We entered the names of the journalists with FNB Visa Debit or Credit cards in a bowl and NBC’s Sport Producer for Radio and TV, Natangwe Jimmy, is the lucky winner of two single tickets of our 2010 FIFA World Cup Campaign,” said Vido Tjozongoro, Project Leader for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Campaign.

About 15 journalists entered the draw and all journalists at the launch won a real FNB branded, FIFA inspected match ball to be used throughout the entire month of the World Cup tournament in South Africa. “In total, FNB will be giving away 300 single tickets and each winner will receive two single tickets, meaning the tickets will go to 150 couples,” Tjozongoro said.

He said the tickets are for the best seats and it ranges from the opening round right through to the finals of the tournament. Tjozongoro was quick to state that “the tickets are not transferable and the bank also committed an additional cash incentive for pocket money to the winners for transport, accommodation and other expenses.”

FNB also announced that the 2010 FIFA World Campaign will have five quarterly draws with the first one slated for 30th April 2009. The other four draws will be on the 31st July 2009, 31st October 2009, 31st January 2010, and the final one on 30th April 2010. To qualify for the draw, Tjozongoro explained, “customers must have a FNB Visa Debit or Creditcard that is active and in good standing.

Customers can also open a FNB Visa Debit or FNB Visa Credit card account.” The competition encourages customers to use their FNB Visa Debit or FNB Visa Credit cards four times a month in order to score a goal. This goal is scored by performing four FNB ATM withdrawals to score one goal or four FNB Visa Point of Sales or even by making four FNB Visa Point of Sale purchases, Tjozongoro said.

“Another option to score a goal is to make four FNB Visa Online payments.” Customers may also score a goal by combining the options by either making two FNB ATM swipes or two FNB ATM withdrawals. This too will earn you a goal,” Tjozongoro guaranteed.

He mentioned that FNB will inform its customers about their goal status by regularly sending In Contact SMS messages and that customers should be free to enquire their goal-status information from FNB branches.

“Winners of the FNB Namibia 2010 FIFA World Cup Campaign tickets will also be announced in the media, through free SMS InContact messages and that this information will also be available on the FNB Namibia website,” he said. Tjozongoro further revealed that the bank has acquired a limited number of brand new specially designed 2010 FIFA World Cup FNB Namibia Visa Debit cards.

“We invite FNB customers to swop their current FNB Visa Debit cards for the brand new ones free of charge, provided customers’ accounts are active and in good standing. No goals will be awarded for swopping current cards with the new ones,” he pointed out.

FNB Namibia banking products eligible for the FNB Namibia 2010 FIFA World Cup Ticket campaign are FutureSave & FutureForward; CardWise; LifeStart Transmission Account; BOB 2000; LifeStyle Accounts [turquoise, silver, gold and platinum] as well as the Individual Agri Account, Tjozongoro concluded.
